From the Latin root "Myo" meaning muscle, Myotherapy is a comprehensive and holistic approach to treating range of motion problems as well as chronic muscular and neural pain that results from both postural and repetitive motion issues. It combines both classic deep tissue techniques with fascial release and orthopedic massage to achieve structural balance.
New clients begin with a postural assessment report , receive a customized treatment plan, and can monitor their progress with regular reports. The goal is fascial fitness which improves circulation, increases range of motion for better muscle strength and flexibility, and helps to prevent injury.
Combining bodywork with strength training, corrective exercise, fascial stretching and nutritional counseling, Uptown Myotherapy offers complete solution for your needs.
Using a combination of styles including Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Trigger Point, Myofascial Release, Orthopedic Massage and Active Release Technique, Myotherapy is a non-evasive, drug free alternative for treating treating range of motion problems as well as chronic muscular and neural pain including rotator cuff, neck and shoulder pain, TMJ and headaches, golfer's and tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica knee pain, plantar fasciitis, and pelvic stabilization.
Personal Training is designed specifically with each client's goal in mind (weight loss, building lean muscle mass/toning, strength and muscle building, corrective exercise). Every client will take part in a posture and squat assessment, as well as skin fold and body measurements.
Based on the gathered information, clients will be guided through workout sessions which, first, correct body form, and strengthen weak muscles to accomplish functional stability. Successive workouts will progress in difficulty until the client's goals are met.
Fascial Stretch Therapy is an assisted stretching technique that is performed by a certified fascial stretch therapist while the client is on a treatment table, floor, or athletic field. This technique uses comfortable traction of the joint capsule as well as lengthening of the muscle and fascia tissue with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) technique to create an effective relaxation response.
|Comprehensive nutrition therapy is designed specifically for each client based on their personal goals whether it's weight loss, performance enhancement, or overall health improvement. Each client will give an individual assessment based on their diet history, medical history, and personal goals. They will receive their estimated nutrition needs, macronutrient breakdown, meal planning tips, and individual meal plans. During each follow-up session, anthropometric measurements (weight, measurements, BMI) will be calculated to document progress towards your goals.|
